Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Receiptive ("we", "us", or "our") collects,
uses, processes, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related web pages.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide and improve our receipt-tracking service:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address. This is processed
securely via Supabase Auth.
- Receipt Metadata: We store structured details extracted from your receipts, including the merchant's name, vendor category, date and time of the transaction (with estimated timezone offset), subtotal, tax amount, total amount, currency, language, payment method (name and type), location or address, phone number, tax inclusion status, tax rate, and representative emojis.
- Receipt Items: We collect and structure individual line items from the receipt, including item names, quantities, unit prices, total prices, item categories, parent-child item relationships (for modifiers or options), and corresponding item emojis.
- Receipt Images: When you scan or upload a receipt, the image is securely uploaded and stored in our database storage buckets to facilitate text extraction and for your future retrieval.
2. Receipt Processing & OCR
To extract details from your receipts, Receiptive uses advanced cloud-based processing. Receipt images are not processed or transcribed locally on your device. Instead, when you scan or upload a receipt, the image is securely transmitted to our backend API hosted on Supabase Edge Functions. This API invokes Google Gemini models to perform optical character recognition (OCR), parse structured receipt metadata, and list individual line items before saving them to your Space.
3. Cloud Storage & Data Sharing
To enable collaborative tracking, your receipts and Space associations are stored in a secure cloud database
powered by Supabase.
Our backend implements Row Level Security (RLS), meaning that your receipts are private and only accessible to
yourself and members whom you explicitly invite to your shared Spaces.
4. Service Providers & Diagnostics
We use third-party services to process data, host backend logic, and ensure app stability:
- Firebase Remote Config & Crashlytics: Used to manage app version checks and capture anonymous application crash logs.
- Supabase: Provides cloud database, storage, authentication, and hosts the edge functions used for receipt scanning.
- Google Gemini API: Processes uploaded receipt images to perform text recognition (OCR) and extract structured transaction information.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You can delete your scanned receipts, leave Spaces, or permanently delete your account directly from the Profile screen in the Receiptive app at any time. Triggering the account deletion instantly and permanently removes your profile, authentication credentials, registered payment methods, and all associated receipt records and scan histories from our active databases.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new
policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
Terms of Use
Welcome to Receiptive. By downloading, installing, or using the Receiptive application or website, you agree to
comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our
services.
1. Use of Our Service
Receiptive is a tool designed to help you scan receipts and share budget calculations. You may use our service
only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable local, national, and international laws.
2. Account Creation & Security
To use Receiptive, you must register for an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for
safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately
of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. Collaborative Spaces
Receiptive allows you to create or join collaborative "Spaces" where other users can view, edit, or add receipts.
By inviting others or joining a Space, you acknowledge that:
- All members of a Space can view any receipt details and images uploaded to that Space.
- Other members of the Space may modify or categorize your receipt entries.
- You will not upload sensitive, illegal, or inappropriate images to a shared Space.
4. User Content & License
You retain all ownership rights to the receipts and images you scan. However, by uploading content to our
services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that
content solely for the purpose of operating and providing our services to you and your Space members.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to upload content or use the service in any way that violates laws, infringes on third-party
intellectual property, attempts to disrupt or overload our databases, or uses bots to scrape receipt processing
capabilities.
6. Subscriptions & Billing
Receiptive offers auto-renewable subscriptions for premium features ("Receiptive Pro"):
- Subscription Titles & Durations: Receiptive Pro is available as a Monthly subscription or a Yearly subscription.
- Payments: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Renewal Pricing: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current price of the subscription.
- Subscription Management: You can manage and cancel your subscriptions at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.
- Cancellations & Refunds: You may cancel your subscription at any time. All billing, cancellations, and refunds are handled directly by Apple and subject to Apple's App Store terms.
- Standard EULA: In addition to these Terms of Use, your use of the Receiptive mobile application on iOS is governed by Apple's Standard License Agreement (EULA) at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
7. Limitation of Liability
Receiptive is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. In no event shall we be liable for any indirect,
incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the
application, including incorrect extraction of receipt amounts. Always verify totals manually before splitting
budgets.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to the service at our sole discretion,
without notice, if you violate these Terms of Use.
